About the author . . .
Alethea E Bothwell is strictly an amateur. She started doing genealogy in 1999.
She has a BA in English from the University of Michigan
and an MA in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
That last item might make you think she is a whiz at research, but she majored in Children's Librarianship - and she has not worked as a professional librarian since getting her degree.
She got her first computer at age 50, and is therefore about as comfortable with modern technology as your grandmother.
She is not an expert on any of these families, nor does she wish to be.
About the sources . . .
I've tried, really I've tried. But you know how, when you first start out, you don't pay a lot of attention to sources - all you want is to fill in the blanks? That was me. I have gone back and tried to find the sources for some of my early stuff, but sometimes I haven't been able to.
These pages were written at different times, and the citation style is not necessarily consistent. I apologize for that, but hope I have given enough information so that you can find the source.
I have gotten a lot of information from Family GenForum sites and from Rootsweb Family Trees and archives. I always try to verify such information, but sometimes it stands alone.
Design notes . . .
This site was put together using Dreamweaver MX2004. I know what you're thinking - with such a powerful tool, why is the site so crude? Simple - I'm an idiot. Learning about everything Dreamweaver can do gave me sensory overload, so I decided to keep it simple.
If you have any suggestions for improvement (as long as they're simple), please let me know: lee@leesgenes.com
