Samuel was born about 1690 in Wigan, Lancashire County, England. He married Lucy Dodge (born about 1685) on October 18, 1713 in either Wallgate Parish, Wigan or at Measham in Derbyshire. The only other information about him is a list of his and Lucy's children. They had six:
James, born 24 October 1714
Sarah, christened 24 October 1717
William, christened 6 December 1719
Mary, christened 19 August 1722
Ann, christened 5 January 1725 or 1726
William, christened 28 September 1730 I presume this means the first
William had died?
Apparently there are church records of the baptisms of the children; I do not know if children were baptized the day they were born or several days or weeks later.
And this is all the information I (we) have on Samuel. Except that he (and Lucy) apparently did not emigrate, but lived all their lives in Lancashire. No one has published information about the other children (besides James), so possibly they stayed in England as well - or possibly, since most of them are females, they emigrated under other names.
