The Belchers are another set of instant ancestors. I have done no original research on them at all, so they have remained mostly names to me.
They came very early into Virginia, and after a generation or so started moving west. Here
is the line:
William Belcher b. 1534 married Elizabeth Randes
their son (possibly) Henry b. 1575 in Warwickshire married Mary Mitchell
their son William Thomas b. 1615 in Warwickshire married Tabitha Bartlett.
- he apparently was the one who went to Virginia, because
their son Robert was born 1649 in Isle of Wight County, Virginia. He married Phoebe
Isham.
their son John Belcher b. 1670 married Elizabeth Frogley
their son Richard b. 1710 Henrico County, Virginia married Mary Obedience Clay
and, finally, their daughter Elizabeth Ann b. 1749 married Richard Bailey.
- they were the ones who moved west to what would become Tazewell County
- and their daughter Sarah Ann married Samuel Lusk.
This is information copied from other researchers - my first source was Walter Bailey's
Bailey-Coulter Archives.
