Virginia - Kentucky - ?? - Indiana
I have a lot of trouble with this fellow. None of the census listings (when they exist) seem to fit his family profile, and the two very good online genealogies I have used as guides - by Helen Bennett Voorhees and by Cecil Connor - disagree about the number and names (and birthdates) of his children. Helen includes John C Connor as one of his sons, but John C always said he was born in Pennsylvania, and other children, born at about the same time, claimed to have been born in Indiana. I cannot, at this time - and perhaps maybe never, resolve this, so what follows is a jumble, but the best I can do at the moment.

Here's an extra little complication - Emily Lusk married SAMUEL Conner, but the 1850 census shows her living with George M. The person on the census right above George M is also George - so I am thinking a mistake was made - and that this child's name was, possibly, Samuel - although, as I said, Cecil does not include him at all..
