We aren't sure of the exact spelling of the name. We pronounce it Cusmano, but Italians always put a little extra dance step in their words, so what we heard as "Cusmano" others might have heard as "Cusumano." On censuses and in city directories it is spelled every which way. My Irish grandmother finally decided the name was going to be Cusman, and it's been that ever since.
Some people say Sicilians are paranoid. I say we just appreciate our privacy.
So I'm not going to post family stories up here for everyone to see.
If you're a cousin, contact me, and I'll share.
The information here is all in the public domain, so.
