1910 census- Burbank Twp, Los Angeles, ED 278?- 4B-57 -
can’t read street, looks like Monmouth - city directory says “n end of Defrees” -
when you look it up in the Street/ED index is says “Defrees, see Sanborn”
but it looks like Monmouth on the actual census (it’s a bad copy) (surprise)

Walter Charles
It appears he died even earlier than I had thought because I found a listing that fits his widow to a "T" in Inglewood (Los Angeles, District 12, page 289A, lines 28-32) in the 1930 census. Her name was Delia, age 32, born in Missouri, married at 18 (putting the marriage at about 1914), occupation "plain sewing," with the following four children, all born in California:
Edna M., age 12
Marion E., age 10
Lorna L., age 8
Fred E., age 14
Delia turns up in the California Death Index with a birth date of Aug. 12, 1897, in Missouri and a death date of Oct. 7, 1978 in Fresno County. Fred E. Scott also shows up in the index with dates of Aug. 3, 1916 and Aug. 17, 1981 in Fresno County. According to the index, his mother's maiden name was Kane so that's what I'm plugging into the database for Delia. Nothing in the death index for Fred's three sisters.
